RE-CL Mortar

Product Description

RE-CL Mortar is a chloride resistant, non-shrinking, water-based polymer mortar composed of special hardened aggregate, garnet, cement, special additives, and functional admixtures, and a liquid binder of water-based acrylic polymer emulsion.

Application

    1. Reinforced Concrete Structures
    2. Harbors
    3. Piers
    4. Any Concrete/Steel Structure near the Ocean

Application Equipment

    1. Mixing equipment: Hand mixer, power mixer. Small silo & continuous mixer.
    2. Gauge: Scales.
    3. Application equipment: Trowel, recommended spraying tool.

Features

    1. Resistance to corrosion from sulfates and sulfuric gas.
    2. Resists percolation of acid gas, humidity, and most chemical hazards.
    3. Adheres very well with existing concrete structures.
    4. Resists cracking with high flexural strength.
    5. Inhibits drying and shrinkage cracking

Directions

    1. Measure 1 lb of Type A and .149 – .16 lb of Type B in each container
    2. Amount of Type B may vary depending on temperature and humidity
    3. At initial mixing, mix .14 lb of Type B to 1 lb of Type A, and add type within 10% in consideration of workability in 5 minutes and mix again for 3 minutes before application.
    4. As various additives are mixed mix mortar sufficiently (5 minutes or longer).
    5. Dampen concrete surface with water or type B before application to ensure that concrete does not wick away moisture from mortar mixture.
    6. Apply the mortar using a trowel or recommended spraying tool.

Caution

    1. A sufficient curing is required under the temperature below 50°F.
    2. In case of any condensation on surface, dry the surface using heater, fan, air compressor or portable burner.
    3. In case of hot-weather concreting on dried surface, spray refined water or liquid to prevent the mortar from drying too rapidly.
    4. Limit the amount of mixed material at normal temperature so that it can be applied within 30 minutes.
    5. Do not use if powder hardens or liquid freezes.
    6. No application shall be allowed at the temperature below 31°F or above 95°F.
    7. As the viscosity varies depending on temperature and humidity, keep agitating to prevent the aggregate from being segregated in a low viscosity, and add type B within a mixing ratio allowable before agitating the material in high viscosity.
    8. Protect the surface from external impact at least for 24 hours after application, and continue after checking curing state.
    9. Protect the surface from wind or direct sunlight after applicationn.

Storage

    1. Refer to instruction on storage of powder or liquid-type material for further details. If problems persists, contact the manufacturer.

Other

    1. Those not instructed in specifications may follow standard concrete specifications.
    2. In the event of any discrepancies between the specification and work environment, consult the manufacturer or designer before application.
